Would Ayurvedic massages be covered under my health insurance?Unfortunately because I am not a Registered Massage Therapist, the massages I offer are not covered under regular massage claims. However, if you have a Lifestyle Account with your health insurance provider, you can inquire as to whether Ayurvedic massages would be covered. If so, then I can provide you with a receipt.

How should I prepare for my massage appointment? Please ensure that you have not washed your hair or have any hair products on prior to coming for your appointment. If you have long hair, please comb out any hair knots. I recommend wearing an old top, as oil may get on it. I will provide you with a sarong to wear for the massage.

What kind of oils do you use for the massages? For the scalp, I use coconut oil infused with amla berries, aloe, Spanish thyme, rosemary and curry leaves. For the body & face, I use coconut oil with ylang ylang essential oil to balance all 3 doshas (bio-energy centres) in the body.

What can I expect during a Reiki session?Generally during a session, you lay on the massage bed fully clothed (comfortable clothing) without any heavy metal (belts) or jewellery. The practitioner places his/her hands lightly on the various energy centres to remove any stagnant energy. This helps to facilitate a clear flow of the vital life force energy. If clients prefer not to be touched, the transfer of energy can still be done without touching them.
